Community Language Programs
Some schools receive additional Community Language teachers if they provide language classes for groups of students.
At Killarney, we have a large number of French-speaking students, and also a large number who are learning French as an additional language. Along with a number of French Community Language Teachers, additional language teachers are provided through a parent-funded organisation, FANS. This partnership allows KHPS to maintain a strong and well recognised French Bilingial Program school-wide.
Mandarin language lessons are provided to those students who speak Mandarin as their 'mother-tongue'. Students are withdrawn from regular classes to participate in these classes.
